Designer Comments:
This tactile icon was created for exercise equipment - a recumbent bicycle had a goal button. The concept of a goal is the place or position or point where you or something you control wants to be. I want to run 5K. I want my golf ball to be in the cup. The first attempt was a circle with nubs at the four cardinal points, like a target. I like to stay away from overloaded circle icons and it was too subtle for touch. The flag is a better tactile object and has some visual equivalents. The size of the rectangle and the thickness of the post have been changed to improve recognition. A possible improvement is to replace the rectangle with a triangle.
